According to Popular Science a piece of bread, dropped by a passing bird, has managed to damage the Large Hadron Collider.

A bird dropped some bread on an outdoor machinery, that eventually lead to over heating in parts of the accelerator. The LHC was acctually not operational at that particular time of the incident, but the little spike produced so much heat that had the beam been on, automatic failsafes would have shut down the machine.

They say that the Bird Incident won't delay the reactivation of the facility, which is still scheduled for later this month.

For any SMB or large enterprise the key to get ahead of the competition lies in foresight and taking right decisions at right times. Here the market statistics or facts plays an important role in helping the management to take better and effective decisions.

Agro, FMCG, Pharma also the manufacturing industries or for that matter any industry which deals in indirect or secondary sales, from Company to Distributors to retailer tend to focus on their primary sales (Company to distributors) but for an indepth coverage of the market, to understand the sales till the retailer level you need to get data from the indirect or secondary sales (Distributor to retailer). A Secondary sales tracking will benefit the company in getting:

    * Indepth market understanding.
    * Better Logistics and warehouse management.
    * Real-time sales reporting.
    * Helping in forecasting sales projections.

Subject: RDF based Semantic tools

We all hear about the large corporations using the semantic technologies to deliver the value the end user. Be it just the RDF, or intelligent systems trying to achieve complex solutions without any human interventions. But how many true commercial Semantic web applications are there in the market.

Few months back I read an article in ReadwriteWeb about todays RDF based Semantic web applications. Where I found some commercial RDF based semantic web applications like Twine, Talis, Garlik and there are some others which use RDF.

But we still need to see more of, the said commercial RDF based semantic web applications. The best markets listed for RDF applications are health care, consumer, enterprises and other such markets.

Many people considering the few applications present still believe that we are in the Generation Zero of the semantic web. Here I would also like to point out one of my favorite Semantic Database which is again an RDF based model from Brainwave Platform
